This year, tradition and culinary innovation meet again at the eagerly awaited Mostra de Cuina Marinera de La Vila Joiosa, which will be held from 8 to 15 March. This edition promises to continue the gastronomic and cultural legacy that has characterised the event since it was first held in 2001, once again providing a space for the promotion of seafood cuisine and the cultural identity of La Vila.
Among the main events, on 14th March there will be a talk on "Women in the world of wine, like vine, like wine", accompanied by a wine tasting at 7 p.m. at the Espai d'Art Contemporani de la Barbera. On 15th March, the Llar del Pensionista social centre will host the "Encuentro de rederos con la Asociación de Zarcieros, Motle i Malleta" at 7 p.m., followed by the premiere of the documentary "Poble de peix" at 8 p.m., offering an in-depth look at the region's fishing tradition.
In addition, on 8, 14 and 15 March, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in free guided tours of the fish market, with prior registration at the Tourist Office. Throughout the week of the Mostra, diners will be able to enjoy discounts at Vilacomerç's associated businesses on presentation of their menu tickets, as well as free admission to the Vilamuseu, thus enriching their cultural and gastronomic experience.
The participating restaurants, which include outstanding options such as Hogar del Pescador, Ca Marta, El Pòsit, El Nàutic, Club Nàutic, Taberna Tres.14, Made, Restó René, DRoca, and El Trébol, are preparing to surprise the most demanding palates with special menus that fuse seafaring tradition and the most avant-garde culinary techniques, always with local fish and seafood as the main protagonists.
La Mostra de Cuina Marinera de La Vila Joiosa not only inaugurates the annual calendar of events of "La Vila Gastronómica" but, after more than two decades, reaffirms itself as an essential reference for gourmets and lovers of good food, celebrating the richness, strength and diversity of our gastronomic heritage.
